VINTAGE HOLIDAYS - Red and Pink Vintage Valentine's Party

As I mentioned before, we don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, but this time we happened to have some friends over so I couldn't resist to make the buffet table red and pink
I wanted to take it really easy so no hearts and cheesy messages just a lot of red and pink food and as much vintage and retro china and silverware as possible ;) The keyword would be mix and match I guess...

To be perfectly honest with you guys, yesterday I was so busy preparing everything for the guests that I didn't have time to take pictures so I tried to do a fair remake for you this morning.

So please imagine way more food, darkness, some candles, music (we were listening to this) and a handful of chatting and laughing tipsy Italians

As for the food I tried to keep it mostly red and pink finger-food style easy bites.
I've prepared
- cheese and red grape bites, mini mozzarella and cherry tomato bites, prosciutto and grissini sticks (I didn't make them again but they looked more or less like this)
- guacamole, hummus and a hungarian paprika cream cheese spread and a lot of different types of bread
- meatballs and a simple salad mix with blood oranges

I wanted to try this or this cocktail but I didn't manage to finish in time with the food so we just had organic pink grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, and the usual stuff like wine, beer, champagne, and other soft drinks

I made two easy-peasy desserts
- a chocolate cake (bought) pimped up with some coffee and topped with chocolate spread and hazelnut
- pannacotta fingerfood unfortunately the recipe is in Italian but it's a normal pannacotta made in very small amounts put on a shortbread biscuit and topped with marmalade, soooo easy but it was a real hit! You have to try it as well (the guests brought the tiramisu cake from a bakery)

I don't have much to say about the decoration it was so simple
If you want to make something similar just don't be afraid to mix the opposites, antique with modern, paper plates with silver cake server - in my opinion they can be all good friends on the table

Oh and if you like the Wedgwood cake-stand or the lead crystal serving platter they are both for sale in our shop at the moment OrsaMaggioreVintage Shop
